Our students attend public and private schools across Lee, Hendry and Glades counties, in addition to those who are home-schooled. We work with the schools, families and our transportation department to coordinate and provide rides to our center on a specific day of the week for each student.

Transition students at

We encourage our students to be as independent as possible when it comes to transportation, including utilizing public transportation, paratransit and ride-sharing to return home at the end of the day.

Goals for weekly after school meetings are as varied and far-reaching as our students. For example, during a typical two-hour session, a student may meet with our Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist and learn how to repair a stitch for an hour, and then spend the second hour with our Certified Assistive Technology Information Specialist practicing finding a phone number for a tailor on the internet using JAWS, Zoomtext or Fusion.
